Helpful Tax Advice

We would like to share with you information about the Charitable IRA Rollover, which was made permanent by Congress and signed into law by President Obama on 18 December 2015.  Many people have not heard about this option for making charitable gifts.  Individuals 70 ½ and older can instruct their IRA administrator to make a distribution directly to one or more qualified charities such as Cambodia Corps.

The IRA Charitable Rollover has proven to be very popular as you can exclude the amount of the gift from your gross income for Federal Tax purposes.  Annually, you can make direct tax-free contributions of up to $100,000 from a traditional or Roth IRA to Cambodia Corps.

Although the gift cannot be claimed as a charitable deduction, the payout does not count as taxable income.  These transfers would fulfill some or all of your Required Minimum Distribution without increasing taxable income.

In addition, you can direct your gift to the General Fund, Scholarship General Fund or for the Scholarship of an individual student.

Of course, we encourage you to contact your tax or financial advisor about your individual situation before making financial decisions.
